NDUGA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 432/Waspada Setia Jaya Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Wednesday, 9 October 2024.
The 432 Task Forces, especially the Mbuwa Post led by First Lieutenant Fahrizal, conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with residents of Otalama Village, Mbuwa District, while conducting areal protection tasks. This Komsos aims to foster trust and cooperation between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community to support the Indonesian Government’s program of accelerating the development of the Papua region.
The Commander of 432 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Zulfikar Akbar Helmi, stressed the importance of the soldiers' role and the need for the Task Forces to pay attention to the community's basic needs around the Post. In response, on Wednesday, the Soldiers took advantage of the protection tasks through interaction and communication with Otalama residents. The interaction followed package distribution by the 432 Task Forces from the Indonesian Chief of Army (Kasad), General Maruli Simanjuntak, to the residents.
While maintaining their focus on security, the Soldiers took the opportunity to communicate in harmony with the people. In this communication, the Mbuwa Post conveyed Kasad’s mandate to deliver musical equipment packages. The package distribution of musical equipment is expected to support the smooth running of residents' worship. In response to the package’s distribution, one of the residents, Ham Murib, expressed their happiness by saying, "Thank you, Bapak Kasad, for the packages we received. God bless." This heartwarming response from the residents underscores the impact of the Army's efforts, highlighting the reassurance and security they provide in the assigned area.
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 432 Task Forces’ initiative to communicate socially with the Otalama residents and the distribution of Kasad’s packages. His words: "The 432 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive social communication with all stakeholders to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development, instilling profound hope and optimism about their potential to positively shape the region's future.
