NDUGA - In a remarkable display of service beyond duty, the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad has become a beacon of hope for the people of Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. Through their initiative, ROSITA (Buy Up Farming Products), soldiers are not just protecting the nation’s borders but also uplifting local livelihoods and building strong community bonds.
On Thursday, November 21, 2024, soldiers from the Quary Bawah Post, led by First Lieutenant Febri Rahma Triana, turned their routine security patrol into a moment of empowerment for residents of Sralala Village. Using their own funds, the soldiers purchased locally grown produce to support the farmers’ economy, embodying the TNI’s commitment to serving the people.
A Morning of Smiles and Gratitude
Mrs. Marta Tabuni, a local farmer, expressed her heartfelt gratitude after selling her harvest to the soldiers. “Thank you, Commander 503, for buying my farming products. God bless, ” she said with a broad smile. The income she earned that morning brought joy and hope to her family.
Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, Commander of Task Forces 503, highlighted the importance of such initiatives. “Our mission extends beyond security. It’s about addressing the challenges faced by the people in our operational areas. Supporting their welfare is our priority, ” he affirmed.
