NDUGA - In a heartfelt initiative to foster education, health, and enthusiasm among the children of Papua, the Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) Raider 503/Mayangkara, a unit under the HABEMA Operations Command, organized a football training and friendly match with students of SD Inpres Kenyam, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua, on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Currently deployed for the RI-PNG Mobile Border Security Operation, the task force, led by Captain Chk Bangun, aims not only to safeguard the region but also to empower the younger generation through sports and education. The event kicked off with a warm-up session, followed by ball passing drills taught by the Kesatria Mayangkara warriors. These activities were designed to boost students' focus, memory, and confidence before starting their lessons.
Building Character, Discipline, and Teamwork Through Sports
“We want the children of SD Inpres Kenyam to be not just physically strong but also mentally sharp. Sports offer an engaging way to instill discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, which are crucial values for their future, ” said Captain Chk Bangun.
Beyond the football session, the Yonif 503/Mayangkara Task Force also donated footballs to the school, reinforcing their commitment to nurturing the students' passion for sports.
